This is England

This is England represents the genre of British social realism very well throughout the film. The scene I had watched was the combo fight scene between the main guy who is portrayed to be a racist thug and a black man.

The white man is beating up the black man. The genre has been shown so well here because racism and violence is a big factor in most of the British so ill realism films. 

Another part where this is England fits into the genre is 

The man has several tattoos over his arms and both the younger child and the older man have shaved heads which can be connoted with the racist white makes that shaved there heads and were portrayed as the thugs. Also the flag hanging in the back shows it's set in England so again it fits the genre and also shows being English is the main point of the film. They have pride in being English.

This this fits the British social realism as it shows the man with the cross in the middle of his forehead but also show a the scars in his face and the clothes he is wearing which connotes that he is of the underclass , as so many higher class people don't tend to have tattoos on their foreheads. This is also connotes that everything is revolved  around being english. 

This fits the genre because this screenshot contains the violence that has been shown throughout the scene. The bloody face and hands that have been trusted on to his neck connotes that violence plays a big role in the movie and violence is associated with the genre , beat every British social realism films contain violence. And this has been portrayed very well.

This fits the genre because this shot shows the violence but also the room they are in. The room has uneven colours no colour scheme and the room itself looks very gritty which again shows they are underclass which is commonly shown throughout British social realist movies.

 The movie has used natural lighting. This has created the shots to be quite dull and not as perfect as Hollywood and big movies would. And every British social realist film use natural lighting and are not as perfect as films that have been created in Hollywood. So this contributes to the fact that this fits into the genre.
