Part eighty.

Here is a video of my preliminary task.
Overall i thought my preliminary task was quite successful as we watched other preliminary tasks that past students had done before us and we thought we would come up with a very creative idea. Such as in our one the lady is going to the doctors as she is pregnant. However she realises she has had an miscarriage. We see a flashback of her sitting on the floor crying. We were given a task that we had too shoot two people having a conversation and person one leaving the room.

I thought the creativity in this was very good. As it was original nobody had the same storyline as us.Another strength was the range of different types of camera shots we chose for example close-ups, long shot, mid shot etc. we used many throughout our work and the end result was quite good. The planning was very good because Bilal and me already knew what we wanted to do so it came together quite well. The effect i used on the shot which shows the pregnant woman falling created the scene to be more intrestting because it was a flashback scene so it was clearer for the audience.

The things i thought were less successful was the match on action. It was not clear and looked very jumpy. in editing cutting the shots to make it lead into the next one smoothly was a struggle for us as we could not find the right moment to cut the shot. Another unsuccessful aspect was we did
not concntrate as much on the pregnant woman's face. We should have focused on her facial expression whilst she was falling down to make it more dramatic and seem more realistic. I think our storyline was very unique however we could have used better shots in our story-boards to make the audience understand our work more. I slacked a lot in the project.

I think we did progress a lot. As in the preliminary project i did not contribute as much as i should have.  however for our production now i did contribute a lot. More than i did before. Our editing skills did progress a lot as the match on action was very good due to our teacher showing us clip processor which made the match on action more precise and it flowed more.

Another way we progressed for our BSR film was making each shot count. meaning we were not wasting any shots such as we kept to the storyline and used several close-ups which we did not have in the preliminary task. This made it more dramatic and realistic as we wanted.
